From fun party dresses, to elegant evening wear, use this guide to find your favorite style and add a bit of stardust as well with these current celebrity fashion favorites. Cheryl Cole Everyone loves Cheryl Cole's quirky, cutting edge style.

Celebrity Inspired Bags Are the Latest Fashion

Recent news has it that supermodel Kate Moss will be designing handbags for Longchamp. Celebrities designing exquisite apparels and accessories and most of them are successful in making their designs popular among the masses. But how are celebrity inspired bags different from the celebrity designed ones?
Often during Red Carpets, award functions and film festival, we see stars and superstars sporting stunning apparels as well as equally exquisite accessories. Designers know that such occasions are best to promote their designs. Hence, they make celebrities carry clutches, handbags and purses designed by them so that the designer gets promoted. But it is not possible for the common masses to afford such expensive handbags. Hence, a new trend of celebrity inspired bags has started where manufacturers design bags that are designed by other designers and are famously promoted by some glamorous star at some event or the other.

Well, everyone wants to save some money and there is nothing wrong or shameful in it, especially in these recession times. Today's world economic condition is that people can't afford to go about spending money mindlessly on frivolous things when there are other necessities to consider. For many years now designers bragged about the quality and style of their designs and made the common masses believe that unless you spend a thousand bucks on a handbag you won't get a good one. This idea has undergone a change in recent times as various manufacturers have incorporated celebrity styles in their products and at the same time upgraded the quality of the items. Hence, these days you will find very little difference, as far as quality of material is concerned, between designer handbags and the celebrity inspired ones.
Hence, get rid of the misconception that inspired bags are made of cheap materials and very low in quality. Rather, they are good quality stuff that can be used in the same way as any original designer bag is used. The only difference being lies in their prices. So, why not save some bucks and yet stay in fashion with these inspired bags.
Such handbags have gained in popularity because fashion trends keep changing very fast. It becomes very difficult to keep pace with them if such products are sold at expensive rates. So, even when a particular style of bag goes out of fashion you won't regret much. There would be no regret regarding the amount you spent on the old one or the amount you will have to spend on buying the new ones to remain in sync with the latest trends.

Celebrity Fashion Trends in Women's Boots

So unless you haven't left your house or dorm room since late September, the chances are pretty good that you've noticed that a number of boot trends are in full swing in preparation for the winter season. Fashion is finicky and trends are forever changing. Here's a look at three of the trends in boots you should keep an eye on.
Top designers must have been watching old westerns when working this trend into their designs for Fashion Week. This trend is back in full swing, updated with chunky heels and more buckles than any cowboy would find necessary. Frye is always a great brand to look at when looking for premium boots, and they have a great selection of cowboy styles. If you'd rather not spend as much on a trend that might not be here next fall, try Steve Madden for quality boots at a lower price point
.

Since you're not a cowboy who uses a horse for transportation, you can sport your boots with jeans for a good old western look, leggings, or a cute skirt. Even if you have great legs, it's probably not advisable to show them off with your new boots and a pair of daisy duke shorts, a la Jessica Simpson, as we move into the winter months. That look might just attract a bit too much attention.
Perhaps the most daring trend in fashion so far this year, over the knee boots are perhaps a bit too dramatic for the taste of most women not directly involved in the fashion industry. Even without heels, these boots are attention grabbing, sexy, and one hundred percent fashion-forward. They can be worn, well, however you wish to wear them: with mini skirts, over your favorite pair of skinny jeans, with shorts, or over leggings.
For leggy women with the self-confidence to rock these boots, the effect can be quite stunning, especially when the boots feature heels as well. For shorter women, this is one trend you might wish to steer clear of.
Love them or hate them, Uggs probably aren't going anywhere anytime soon. They might be looked back on as one of the great fashion mishaps of the 2000s, but for now they're here to stay. Stay and keep your legs and feet warm throughout the bitter cold winter months. If you live in an area that is frequented by snow, these boots are always a great addition to your winter wardrobe, no matter how ugly you find them.
If you have old Uggs that need a bit more fur, check out the Ugg website for the insole replacements that will keep your old boots just as warm as ever. If you're an Ugg fan on the market for a new pair, try a pair of the sweater Uggs that are popular on college campuses right now.

If you really just can not bring yourself to purchase a pair of traditional Uggs, try one of the newer styles. The "Highkoo" and the "Kensington" really don't look much like Uggs at all despite their warmth. The "Knightsbridge" gives you a slightly more streamlined look than the traditional Uggs as well.
All in all, boots are a must have for this seasons fashionable women, no matter if you live in frosty New York, or Sunny L.A. these are a fashion must have.

Following Female Celebrity For Latest Fashion Trends

Trends are ever changing, so as fashions. Change is the most basic feature of fashion trends. In spite of knowing this, people never stop following them. It gives them a feeling of getting updated with time. Following celebrity trends are in fashion in these days and especially, among females.
Women are more inclined to the latest fashions trends than men, as they are more concern about their look. They try every ways to look fashionable and beautiful. That's why women follow the celebrity trends, such as hairstyles, dressing styles etc.

There are lots of celebrity news sites available these days which provide all the latest trends and news of the famous celebrities. People notice their simple yet glamorous styles and try to copy them. Apart from their unique personalities that naturally reflects in their beauty, the styles, accessories and clothing they wear add glamour to their styles.

Whatever celebrities choose to wear they look perfectly in that. Their perfect figures make them comfortable to suit any type of styles and dresses. However, when it comes to fashion, celebrities do not work alone on that. They always have their personal designer behind them which help them look appealing all the time.
Celebrities usually choose to wear those dresses that they feel suitable for them. The accessories and clothing style the celebrities use are the important factors that define them well. However, the styles of one celebrity doesn't match the other, thus every celebrity is unique in their own styles and fashions.

Celebrity Fashion Guide - The Maxi Dress

From Topshop to Temperley, the Maxi Dress is once again set to be the summer's fashion staple. Lightweight, flowing and floor length, it is a dress style that will stand out in a crowd and leave you feeling beautiful.
The style always looks expensive, glamorous and elegant, no matter what price and what it is worn with. Taking inspiration from the seventies, designers have managed to update the look to create a garment that is often both vintage and modern. Traditionally patterned with bright floral prints, the maxi dress has now evolved into a luxurious garment, with a vast range of patterns, colours and shapes that flatter and suit both bodies and personalities.

The maxi dress is a style that can be worn day or night, dressed down with sandals and sunglasses or dressed up with heels and sparkling jewellery. It can be worn for any occasion, whether it is at a festival, a dinner party or just out shopping. No matter what your taste, there is sure to be a style for you, whether you want something plain or boldly patterned, colourful or monotone, long sleeved or sleeveless. Simple yet effective, the long length style means that there is no need to over accessorize, as the dress makes the outfit without having to add more to it.
Many women tend to avoid the maxi, as they feel they can not pull off the look. While it does suit the taller woman, the maxi dress has the advantage of making anybody look taller and slimmer due to its unique fit. For the taller lady, the look works best with flat shoes, while the shorter lady is advised to wear the dress with heels, to emphasise the long look.
The Maxi Dress in the media
The maxi dress has recently been seen worn by celebrities such as Heidi Klum, Claudia Schiffer and Mischa Barton, with each of them wearing the style differently expressing their personality and personal taste through the outfit.
The dress was also popular in the recently released Sex And The City 2 movie, with the main characters often wearing the style when on holiday or having a night out. The Sex And The City series is incredibly influential when it comes to women's fashion, and by featuring the maxi dress in the film, it is sure to increase popularity.
Events such as New York Fashion Week also have Zac Posen showcasing the style, it is assumed that the look will filter down and become popular at both high and low end stores. Nearly every summer the maxi dress trend is predicted, but it seems that not everybody is brave enough to wear it and maximize the potential of the style. It is surprising that the trend has not been so successful in the past, as the dress radiates sophistication and glamour. With summer here, a maxi dress (or several) is the perfect addition to every woman's wardrobe.

Fashion Jewellery - Look Like A Celebrity

A woman's closet is incomplete without elegant necklaces and rings. Gold is becoming costlier each day and that is what prompting more and more women to collect nothing but fashion jewelry. Fashion changes with every passing season but fashion trends set by certain celebrities which remains unaltered over the years making a fashion statement and is worshiped and mimicked long after they are gone setting a unique style are Celebrity Fashion icons.

Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis - large black sunglasses famous as "Jackie O" glasses Her style includes tailored look A- line dresses. She portrays a timeless sense of style, simplicity and femininity. She often wore a simple three strand pearl necklace and a pair of gloves, accenting her looks. She used fashion resources from Chanel, Givenchy, Christian Dior and Oleg Cassini.

Cute, Cozy n Comfortable Boots

I don't remember Chicago EVER being this cold in the last few years that I've been here. The days and nights have been absolutely chilling and all I want to do is just bury myself in layers and layers of cashmere and down. In the spirit of keeping my feet warm and stylish, I went on a search for cute, cozy and comfortable boots (if I'm going to look like a fluffed up ball, I might as well be a cute fluffed up ball).

The first thing that actually came to mind was UGG! As Uggly as they are, they DO look oh-so-warm and cozy. And some of their other selections this season are really not that bad. I REALLY like these Uptown II boots (left). It doesn't look too much look a tree stump and the lace with the shearling coming out makes it look feminine and cute. I'm definitely keeping an eye out for these this weekend. And these Locarno look positively un-UGG-like, with its simple sleek shape. Well except for the shearling lining, but thats a GOOD thing.

More classics that you can walk around all winter in. There are these simple brown boots from KORS (left) with the cute buckle (they are definitely growing on me- I WANT it!) and these almost white boots from Adidas(right).

And just so we can be even more cutesy, there are these adorable pom pom embellished boots from Report (left) and Juicy Couture (right). The wedges also gives you some extra height.

Even though they are probably not the most comfortable things in the world, I couldn't resist throwing these in because they just look so cute and cozy from Calvin Klein (left) and Steve Madden (right)! And who knows, for some people they may be comfortable!

Vanessa Bruno FW07 Presentation

Ever since I've noticed the rack of Vanessa Bruno clothes at Lane Crawford (which is like the Barneys of Hong Kong,) I've loved Vanessa Bruno the brand. VB clothes are Parisian chic, cool and classily casual. Plus VB stuff is relatively affordable. It's now a norm for me to get at least one VB item each season. So imagine how excited when Lane Crawford held a little VB FW07 presentation (tonight) and Vanessa Bruno herself was actually going to be there!

The event was a typical one: half an hour of cocktail and a mini runway show. It was a small event so there weren't actually any seats, so thankfully the event was short and started on time.

The presentation is pretty much like it is on the VB website. Even the music is the same!

The first outfit that came out was a lovely trapeze coat that I've liked from the Paris runway back in Feb and have been looking out for. It swayed so nicely along with the model's walk!

This was definitely my favourite dress from the presentation. SO gorgeous! It's so perfect for mild winters (with temperature around 14 degrees Celcius, as in Hong Kong.) The dress is youthful but looks so graceful and pretty. Sigh...

Remember Elyse Sewell from America's Next Top Model many seasons ago? She's been in Hong Kong since then.

And there's Vanessa Bruno in the middle! Spot the light blonde lady in a black skirt and plum-coloured top. She fits in with the models so well.
This collage really shows the style VB's clothes... feminine, light, carefree and pretty. Everyone was invited (err, encouraged) to shop the FW collection afterwards, but I was too tired today to appreciate the clothes I was trying on and decided that I can try on the clothes another day. Also, I'm just not in the mood to shop for FW clothes yet. My sister on the other hand, got a really pretty casual dress. Hmm, I'll definitely have to go back in September for my FW shopping spree!

Fashion and trends in the next season

In case you were wondering what are the tendencies for next year in what concerns fashion and trends you’re in the right place. We would like to share with you some interesting tips on how you can get dressed in the future time and in the same time let’s add that they’re taken directly from the international catwalks.

At Paris you can see models wearing individuality and every designer seems to highlight in their interviews this thing – from choosing the models on the streets in a combination of anonymity and celebrities or models from the 80s and 90s to the present, to shapes and curves XXL at Jean Paul Gaultier to Lanvin who seems place the accent on the loosened shapes of your body and the woman taking her flight to Chanel that applies for fake feathers. This air of freedom is transposed in a variety of shapes, ideas, silhouettes and colors that make the collections really different but keep them in the area of the loosened line and really tidy, far away from explicit sexuality.

Nicolas Ghesquiere continues his emblematic vision in the future that was stared in the previous season placing the accent on individuality. The graphic line with the perfect sketched silhouette brings in modernity some element from the Balenciaga fashion house. The famous motif “pied du coq” defines the first pieces of clothing similarly to a puzzle, together with an androgynous spirit with references to the teddy boys (the British subculture of the 50s) and to punk, a well emphasized theme as well. There are some textures which are made so plastic, close to reptile; the shirts have wrong buttons on them. The technology of cutting with laser is associated to the manual details in a white and black chromatic with accents in blue electric and red.

Chanel gives the tone of modernity which places the accent on fine fabric. If in the precedent season the tone was placed on fake fur, now Karl Lagerfeld suggests artificial feathers which are accompanied by the tweeds that are made in a special manner, similar to high tech lace. Grey, black, white, floral prints and pastels seem to be placed in the classical models with an unfinished aspect. The trench is realized in A-line with ¾ sleeves and delicate skirts and really ruffled and worn with shorts as well. The lace evening gowns are adorned with feathers which length can be placed between really short and up to the ankle, similar to the grunge outfits from the 90s.

Christian Dior carries the fashion lovers into a world in which everything is extravagant and without having anything to care of. The prints in bright colors similar to orchids from Hawaii can be observed in fluid dresses, shorts and great looking, in most of the cases with ruffles and knitted details, worn with stolen masculine pieces – the leather jacket, the aviator jacket. The boudoir legerity from the last Dior collections can be encountered in the future spring season, this time with flowers and in which you can observe stars like Veronika Lake who wear necklaces made of Polynesian flowers. Purple, fuchsia, violet is worn with orange, yellow lime, green lime and turquoise with no trace of black.

Take Note Guys

From time to time, we get requests to blog about men's fashion or redirection to men's fashion blogs. We don't mean to be mean but we usually just say 'we don't know'. And that's the truth: we know zilch about men's fashion.

Personally, I think guys look particularly charming in suits. But of course, I can't expect them to be in suits all the time, afterall overdressing is seriously uncool. So how should guys dress casually? The answer is, it's all very personal. Most of the time, guys seem to be in T-shirt and jeans, or maybe in preppy sweaters and vests. I'm not such a big fan of that look, but really, I've just never thought much about male fashion until I saw these photos of Orlando Bloom:

Yes, it's Orlando Bloom strolling on the streets. Doesn't he look like he's walking on a runway? Now here's a fantastic outfit. It's casual and put-together in an imperfect way. (The aim is to not look like Mr always-perfectly-groomed-Beckham.) And points for not wearing sneakers (as most guys I see seem to wear.)

Another good male fashion role model (just my opinion) for young guys is Logan on Gilmore Girls. I love how he wears T-shirts, maybe a sweater with a blazer or leather jacket. OK I think I just like Logan too much and shouldn't drag him into this post.

Oh, and just to clarify, this post wasn't supposed to let us oogle at only Orlando, (hmm or maybe it was,) but do you know how hard it is to find photos of guys dressed nicely in casual clothes? What do you think guys look best in?

A Big, Roomy Messenger Bag

My favourite trend from SS07 (which I assume will carry onto FW07) is big messenger bags that double as handbags. They are SO useful and cool.
I'm on summer holiday at the moment so I've been able to use my non-school-bags. I haven't bought a bag since last summer so I've hit a bag dry spell. Luckily, my mum bought a few bags for herself and I managed to 'borrow' her Marni balloon bag. I'm really loving it right now. It's SO roomy so it fits pretty much everything in it -when I went to the hair salon, I stuffed a magazine and book in; after I bought skincare products, they fit into the bag too. It's just so convenient to be able to just grab a bag and run out of the house. Plus I love the dark purple -it's the perfect shade of purple to make the bag look pretty, but just dark enough to make it look almost black thus making it versatile. Plus, huge messenger bags seem to go with volumous clothes. Right, I should stop gushing. Here are some others that I found online:
Kooba's Charlie bag from SS07 is so pretty and simple that I can't get why shopbop still has stock (-on sale!) The style reminds my a bit of a less feminine version of Miu Miu bags. And the metal hoops add some detail to the otherwise boring design.
Urban Outfitters has this canvas convertible bag online. It looks kind of like Balenciaga's motorcycle bag. Think what a great school bag this would make!
I usually don't like Marc by Marc Jacobs' handbags, but it surprisingly has a collection of pretty bags this season. Now this Dr. Q tote would make a fantastic travelling bag because it's huge and soft (so you can stuff the bag into hand luggage comparments.)
I absolutely adored this Miu Miu bag when it first hit stores last FW. Who knew it would still be around, albeit in different leather and colours? It's super girly yet it's still practical. Why oh why didn't I buy one last FW?
Because I love this bag so much, here it is in another colour. I can't decide whether a mono-coloured leather version (the one before) is better or this one. There is a contrast between the brown leather and tan kanvas that makes this bag seem more casual and easy-to-use. OK, I'm going to stop obsessing over this bag now -but don't you just love it?
Lastly, I just can't resist tagging on a picture of Ashley Olsen with one of last season's hot bags, Givenchy's Nightingale. I'm not in love with this bag myself but see what I mean about messenger bags? The bag looks so practical and pretty, and you can just throw things in quickly!

Back To Classics

For fashionholics, one of the funnest thing about flipping through Sept. issues of magazines are the new FW07 ads. As we all know, magazine ads usually focus on marketing products from the seasonal collection, especially the 'it' bags. All the products come from one collection and have a common theme. But interestingly this season, Prada and Louis Vuitton, both huge bag sellers, have dedicated one or two campaign images to their classic bags.

Maybe because the creative directors behind the ads did a really good job, or maybe it's because the bags are just so classic -not matter what, these classic bags fit in surprisingly well with the seasonal clothes. I mean, look at this Prada ad, even with the artistic and somewhat weird clothes Prada has this season, the bags still seem to belong there. The puffed up messenger bags totally fit in with Prada's intelligent, artsy image.
As for the Louis Vuitton ad, the classic monogrammed bag fits in really well with the whole posh, well-dressed, high-maintanence woman image. (For once, I'll refrain from ranting about how much I dislike celebs posing in high fashion ads. Sigh...) Even after looking at this uber-glam ad, I still don't feel the urge to buy this monogrammed bag, although to be fair, I'm not a fan of obviously-monogrammed bags. Oops, now I'm ranting about monogrammed bags.

Anyhow, classic bags seem to be getting a push from large brands this season. Are the execs hoping more people would fish out money for their classic bags, or is this a nod to the late 80's/ early 90's trend? No matter what, at least you know if you buy these classic bags, they won't be particularly 'out' next season!

New York SS08 Fashion Week Wrapup II

More about NY Fashion Week...

Marc Jacobs
Woah, this collection was a bit unexpected. I've always imagined a lot of Marc Jacobs' normal typical clients liked cute, funky and clean-cut clothes, which is why this collection of sexed-up clothes surprised me. I'm not really loving the underwear theme or the random slits up the skirt or belly-baring tops, but a lot of individual outfits were pretty cool.

Looks like black sequins will still be 'in'. The dress on the left is so cool -I really like the deconstructed black sequin dress with the nude slip under.

The outfit on the left reminds me of Miu Miu FW07. Anyways, you can see a lot of body parts which are usually covered up.

The dress on the left is so pretty! I'm still not sure how I feel about the daywear though (like the one in the middle.)

A lot of putting-together of pieces. The thing with MJ is that even though just by looking at these photos, my first instinct is to dislike the red outfit (left,) I can imagine it looking cool and funky on certain people in real life.

3.1 Phillip Lim
Looking at Phillip Lim's clothes always makes me feel so sad and happy -Happy to see such girly, chic clothes, and sad to know that I can't afford any of them!

Love love love the cocktail dresses! They're so perfect for people in their 20's.

Everything here just looks so cool and chic, (although the outfit in the middle could do without that weird necklace...) Got to try that all-white with trenchcoat look some time in the future!

And more pretty eveningwear.

Narciso Rodriguez
Narciso Rodriguez is a brand that I actually really like the designs of, but I never notice it much in shops or think about it much because it's a) not suitable for my age yet, b) doesn't advertise much. But everytime New York Fashion Week comes and I see a new collection, I just cannot help looking over the collection many times. I love the clean, structured cutting and colour palette.

There was a lot of office clothes and simple, structured clothes.

And then there were the cocktail dresses which I LOVE. Take the dress on the left, I love the way the sequins are placed -it looks like black and purple were sprayed on. And I love that shade of purple of the dress in the middle and the way the fabric is draped. I want!
